Who was Rudolph F. Zallinger?
Rudolph Franz Zallinger was an American-based artist notable for his mural The Age of Reptiles at Yale's Peabody Museum of Natural History. His painting of the Tyrannosaurus Rex heavily influenced the design of Toho Studios' "Godzilla" when the film was made in 1954.
Other prominent works of Zallinger include:
⁕Age of Mammals - a 60 by 5 feet fresco-secco mural, painted from 1961 to 1967, now displayed on the south wall of the Yale Peabody Museum of Natural History.
⁕March of Progress - a popular illustration and one of the world's most recognizable scientific images.
