Who was Rusty Saunders?
Russell Collier "Rusty" Saunders, was an American Major League Baseball outfielder who played in 1927 with the Philadelphia Athletics. He batted and threw right-handed. Saunders had a .133 batting average in five games, two hits in 15 at-bats, in his one year career. He was born and died in Trenton, New Jersey.
Saunders, at 6'2" and 205 lb, also played professional basketball. He was a member of the American Basketball League's 1925-26 Brooklyn Arcadians. He also played one game for the 1941-42 Trenton Tigers.
