Who was S. M. Laljan Basha?
S. M. Laljan Basha, a politician & Vice President of Telugu Desam Party, was a Member of the Parliament of India representing Andhra Pradesh in the Rajya Sabha, the upper house of the Indian Parliament. He was also elected Member of Parliament of India representing Guntur, Andhra Pradesh constituency in Lok Sabah. During his MP tenure he brought up various important issues for discussion in both the houses. He also acted as Chairman for Joint Parliament Committee for Waqf. He is a renowned Muslim leader in Indian politics known for his ardor to listen to people issues and promptly purse them to resolution.
Basha died in a road accident on 15 August 2013 when his vehicle rammed into the divider at Narkatpalli near Nalgonda on the Vijayawada hyderabad national highway in the wee hours of 15 August 2013 on his way to guntur. His car was reported to be totally damaged. The TDP leader was killed on the spot. Laljan Basha was working as TDP Deputy chairman. He was appointed for Rajayasabha once. He is survived by his wife, 1 son and 4 daughters.
