Who is Sachin Ahir?

Sachin Mohan Ahir is a Member of the Legislative Assembly of the Indian state of Maharashtra. He has twice won the Worli constituency of South Central Mumbai and is a member of the Nationalist Congress Party. He is the nephew of Mumbai gangster Arun Gawli.

As of 2011, he was a Minister of State of Housing, Slum Improvement, House Repairs and Re-Construction, Urban Land Ceiling, Industries, Mines, Social Justice, De-addiction Activities & Environment, and Welfare of Nomadic De-notified Tribes and other Backward Classes. He had been appointed to that position in November 2009.
