Who is Sajjad Lone?
Sajjad Gani Lone is a Kashmiri politician, the youngest son of Abdul Ghani Lone, who was killed in a rally in Srinagar. After the death of his father, Sajjad Lone became the chairman of People's Conference.
In the 2009 Indian general election he stood as an independent candidate in Baramulla, becoming the first separatist leader to stand in a general election in Jammu and Kashmir in 20 years. . He was defeated by the National Conference candidate Sharifuddin Shariq.
