Who is Sal Castaneda?

Sal Castaneda is an award-winning reporter for KTVU-TV the Fox television affiliate in the San Francisco Bay Area. Castaneda has been with KTVU since 1999 and is currently the traffic anchor for the morning show and a general assignment news reporter for the noon and evening newscasts.

Before KTVU, Castaneda worked as a radio traffic, news, and sports reporter in San Francisco for Metro Networks appearing on several radio stations. In the early 1990s Castaneda also worked as a disc-jockey for Live 105, a San Francisco based alternative radio station.

Castaneda graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with an undergraduate degree in Political Science.

Castaneda has gained notoriety for his long tenure as a Bay Area media traffic, news, and transportation reporter as humorously noted in an article in SFGate.com entitled: "BART Winners And Losers, Day 1: Kneel Before Sal!"

Castaneda played the part of a newscaster on a 2010 episode of NBC's Trauma."
