Samuel Joseph Dente [Blackie] was a shortstop in Major League Baseball who played for five different teams between 1947 and 1955. Listed at 5 ft 11 in, 175 lb., Dente batted and threw right-handed. He was born in Harrison, New Jersey and played high school baseball at Kearny High School.
