Who was Sandy Cameron?
A.M. "Sandy" Cameron was a Canadian politician and businessman. He served three terms in the Nova Scotia House of Assembly, representing the Guysborough riding. Cameron was elected as an MLA in a 1973 byelection, 1974, 1978 and 1981—but was defeated for re-election in 1984.
He was born in Sherbrooke, Nova Scotia and was educated at the Nova Scotia Agricultural College and McGill University. He served in the province's Executive Council as Minister of Fisheries from 1973 to 1976, as Minister of Lands and Forests in 1976 and as Minister of Development from 1976 to 1978. Cameron was leader of the Nova Scotia Liberal Party from 1980 to 1985. He was succeeded by Vince MacLean.
Cameron died on December 25, 2004.
