Who is Sandy Gallant?

Meteorologist ' ' ' Sandy Gallant ' ' ' joined News 25 in January 2001, She Anchors the weather and news on News 25 Today, News 25 Express, News 25 Midday & News 25 at Noon, You can also catch Sandy delivering the forecast on NBC Weather Plus. Outside the weather, Sandy has reported on a number of stories including: The 2000 Presidential election recall in Florida, A Capital Murder trial in Stark County, And flying with the U. S. Navy Blue Angels.

She started her broadcast career as a producer and a freelance reporter at WTWC-TV in Tallhassee, FL. Sandy is a proud graduate of Florida State University, Tallhassee Community College, and a Broadcast Meteorology Program at Mississippi State University. She is a Member of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society.

Sandy remains active in the community, She is a member of the Junior League of Peoria, Serves on the Board of Directors for the center for Prevention Of Abuse, is a past board member for Family House, and has worked on the development committee for Crittenton Centers, Inc. Sandy also finds time to volunteer at events benefiting the Children's Miracle Network, The St. Jude Children's Research Hospital Midwest Affiliate, and The Alzheimer's Association of central illinois, In 2007, Sandy was honored as one of the Peoria area's "40 Leaders Under 40 ".

Sandy Gallant holds the Seal of Apporval from The American Meteorological Society. She is a Member of both of The American Meteorological Society and The National Weather Association, as well as the Illinois News Broadcaster's Association and the Radio and Television News Directors' Association.

In her free time, She enjoys experimenting in the kitchen, keeping up with her toddler son, and cheering on the Florida State Seminoles, Sandy & her husband, Matt, live in Peoria.
