Who is Rustam Jamali?
Sardar Rustam Jamali was the Excise and Taxation Minister of Balochistan, assassinated in August 2009. He was born in the village of Bakhra near Usta Mohammad in Balochistan, the son of Sardar Yar Muhammad Jamali of the Jamali tribe. He finished his early education in Balochistan. After finishing high school, he went to Aitchison College in Lahore, then graduated from Balochistan University. He was next in line to the chieftaincy of the Jamali tribe. He was related to former Prime Minister of Pakistan Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali, Chairman of the Senate of Pakistan Jan Mohammad Jamali, and former Balochistan Chief Minister of Balochistan Taj Muhammad Jamali. In 2009 he went to Karachi on an unofficial visit; on 6 August 2009, he was assassinated in the Gulistan-e-Jauhar neighborhood of Karachi. He was shot three times; the bullets hit his jaw and neck. His burial place is Rojhan Jamali.
