Who is Sean Wise?

Sean Wise is a Canadian expert on venture capital. He uses this expertise in his various roles as mentor capitalist, international business speaker, business columnist for The Globe and Mail, and as a consultant for CBC on the venture reality show Dragons' Den. In addition, he is the host of his own blog/podcast/vodcast which focuses on current technology and venture trends, He was formerly a director at Ernst and Young where he helped found their Canadian "Venture Capital Advisory Group".

Sean Wise is a graduate of Carleton University where he studied Aerospace Engineering and Economics. Sean also holds an MBA from University of Ottawa, is a lawyer, a member of the Upper Canada Law Society, an ambassador for the Toronto Stock Exchange, chair of the Canadian Venture Forum, and chairs the boards of directors of several venture capital backed and publicly traded companies in Canada. He is currently pursuing his PhD at the University of Glasgow.

Sean Wise was recently published in the Spring 2008 issue of the The Journal of Private Equity. While this was his first academic article, he has two books as well. The first "Wise Words: Lessons in Entrepreneurship & Venture Capital" was self-published in 2007. His second, "How to be a Business Supehero" was published in September, 2008 by Penguin.
