Who is Shane Gibson?

Shane Gibson is best known for being the backing guitarist for the American metal group Korn, after the departure of Brian "Head" Welch in February 2005. He also plays the lead guitar for the solo tour of Jonathan Davis from Korn. Shane spent most in his teenage years in Florida and graduated in 2002 from the Berklee College of Music where he attended on a scholarship basis. Moving then to Los Angeles, California, where he first worked as a roadie for Kiss and later on TV spots and music for movies, he was introduced to Jonathan Davis by Richard Gibbs, and then hired to play some dates with Korn.

Following the absence of Munky in January 2008, Gibson became the lead guitar player for Korn.

Jonathan Davis states that Shane "reminds him of Head" in that "he's kind of introverted and whenever he's in the room things just seem to fall around him."

However, with Munky's return to Korn on February 23, 2008, Gibson was back to playing the rhythm guitar parts only.

His new main band, stOrk, with Thomas Lang and Eloy Palacios, is an experimental rock band that combines many different elements, including thrash metal and progressive rock. Their self-titled album "stOrk" was released in January 2011. In addition there have been rumors that Shane is working with avant garde metal vocalist Godgray and his band project Elastttic.
