Who is Mohamed Mahmoud Buheiri?

Mohamed Mahmoud Buheiri is a Qur'an reciter born in Egypt in 1927. He is known in Egypt for his imitation of Sheikh Muhammad Rifat and for his religious singing, known as Tawasheeh. From Cairo, Sheikh Buheiri has visited London, Brazil, Brunei, Kuwait and the United States of America among other countries. A very limited number of recordings can be found on the internet.

Buheiri is the chairman of Judges for Qir'at Competitions in Egypt, and has spent time with Nazim al-Qubrusi and the Royal Family of Brunei.
