Siddhartha Shankar Ray was a Bengali politician belonging to the Indian National Congress. He was a prominent barrister, Punjab Governor and Education minister of India. He was also the ambassador of India to the United States of America and served as the Chief Minister of West Bengal from 1972 to 1977.
