Who is David Lumsden?

Sir David James Lumsden PhD, DPhil, MA, MusB, FRCM, FRNCM, FRSAMD, FLCM, FRSA, Hon RAM, Hon FRCO, FKC, is a notable choirmaster, organist and harpsichordist. He is also an authority on lute music.

Among the positions he has held are:

Organ Scholar, Selwyn College, Cambridge, 1948-1954

St Mary's Church, Nottingham, 1954–1956

Director of Music & Rector Chori at Southwell Minster, 1956-1959

Director of Music, Organist and Master of the Choristers at New College, Oxford, 1959-1976

Principal of Royal Academy of Music, 1982-1993
