Who was Sophus Baagoe?

Sophus Baagoe was a German Luftwaffe ace and recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross during World War II. The Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross was awarded to recognise extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership. Baagoe claimed 14 aerial victories, 13 over the Western Front and 1 over the Mediterranean Front. The Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross was awarded to recognise extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership. He is one of the two pilots credited with the kill of the RAF top ace Pat Marmaduke Pattle, on 20 April 1941, in Greece, with Theodor Rossiwall.
