Who was Stanley Marchant?

Sir Stanley Marchant CVO was an English organist and composer, associated with St Paul's Cathedral, where he was second assistant from 1903 and organist from 1927, until he became principal of the Royal Academy of Music in 1936.

His best-known composition, "The Souls of the Righteous", is included in Oxford University Press' The New Church Anthem Book, and a few additional anthems are in print with Chester Music.

Stanley Robert Marchant was born in, and died in, London, England. Cncndns
