Steve Goldman

Who is Steve Goldman?

Steve Goldman is a former Canadian Football League coach. After graduating from Colorado State, Goldman began coaching in college, coaching at Florida State, Rice, and Louisville. From 1980-88 Goldman was an offensive assistant for the Toronto Argonauts, Hamilton Tiger-Cats, Edmonton Eskimos, and Saskatchewan Roughriders. His 1987 Eskimos team set a CFL record for points. He was head coach of the Ottawa Rough Riders from 1989-91. He had an overall record of 11-29, making the playoffs in 1990. He was fired after an 0-4 beginning to the 1991 season and was replaced by Joe Faragalli. He was hired to coach the Nevada Aces of the Professional Spring Football League in 1992, but the league folded before play began.

During his 13 years in the CFL, Goldman coached many successful quarterbacks, including Condredge Holloway, Tom Clements, Dieter Brock, Matt Dunigan, Damon Allen, and Tom Burgess.
