Who was Sundar Singh Majithia?
Sardar Bahadur Sir Sundar Singh Majithia CIE was an Indian landowner and politician.
He was educated at Aitchison College, Lahore, and the Government College, Lahore. One of the largest landowners in the Punjab, he was also honorary secretary of the Chief Khalsa Diwan, the representative body of the Sikh community in British India, from its formation in 1902 until 1920. In 1921 he was appointed Revenue Member of the Governor's Executive Council of the Punjab. From April 1937 until his death, he was Revenue Member in the Punjab Executive Council of Sir Sikandar Hayat Khan.
He was appointed Companion of the Order of the Indian Empire in the 1920 New Year Honours and was knighted in 1926.
