Who is Susan Beth Pfeffer?

Susan Beth Pfeffer is a New York Times bestselling author best known for young adult science fiction. She is also known for writing "About David" and the series often called "The Last Survivors," consisting of Life as we Knew it, The Dead and the Gone, and This World we Live in. A fourth book to the series entitled The Shade of the Moon was intended to be published in fall of 2012, but by mutual agreement Pfeffer and her publisher decided to publish September 3, 2013 instead. However, after a long deliberation process, she has decided to continue the series. She has written the first four manuscripts of "Shade of the Moon" and has stated on her blog that it will be published tentatively around fall of 2013. She has also released a few of the pages online.
