Who is Tanner Glass?

Tanner Glass is a Canadian professional ice hockey winger with the Pittsburgh Penguins of the National Hockey League. During the 2012 NHL Lockout, he played for HC ’05 Banská Bystrica in the Slovak Extraliga. Known as a physical player, he has previously played in the NHL for the Winnipeg Jets, Vancouver Canucks, and Florida Panthers.

Glass played junior hockey in the British Columbia Hockey League for two seasons with the Penticton Panthers and Nanaimo Clippers, earning All-Star Team honours in 2003. Going on to the college ranks with the Dartmouth Big Green for four seasons, he helped his club to two third-place finishes in the ECAC Hockey Conference and served as team captain in his senior year. Selected 265th overall by the Florida Panthers in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft, he turned professional in 2007 with the team's American Hockey League affiliate, the Rochester Americans. For the next two seasons, he split time between the NHL and AHL before signing with the Canucks in July 2009 as an unrestricted free agent. Glass solidified his role as a fourth-line forward on the team and helped them to the 2011 Stanley Cup Finals, where they lost to the Boston Bruins.
