Who is Thabang Makwetla?
Thabang Samson Phathakge Makwetla is the Deputy Minister of Defence and Military Veterans of the Republic of South Africa from 11 May 2009 A member of the African National Congress, Makwetla has been Premier since 21 April 2004. Inside of the ANC, he is a supporter of former South African President Thabo Mbeki. As a consequence of this support and Jacob Zuma's election as ANC President at the 2007 party conference, Makwetla will lose his position of regional chairperson of Mpumalanga.
