Who was Thomas Taber II?

Thomas Taber II was a United States Representative from New York.

Taber was born in Dover, New York, and attended the common schools. He worked in agriculture before becoming a member of the New York State Assembly in 1826.

Taber was elected as a Jacksonian to the Twentieth United States Congress to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of Thomas Jackson Oakley and served from November 5, 1828, to March 4, 1829.

He died in the village of Roslyn on Long Island at age 76 and was buried at the Friends Cemetery in Westbury. He was the father of Stephen Taber, also a Congressman.
