Who is Timothy J. Patrick?

Prior to founding Carticept Medical, Inc., Tim was President, CEO and

co-founder of Proxima Therapeutics, Inc., a company focused on the

localized delivery of radiation for the treatment of cancer. Proxima

was acquired by Cytyc Corporation in March 2005 at one of the highest

device multiples in the last five years. Prior to co-founding Proxima

Therapeutics in 1996, Mr. Patrick was President of Gesco International,

the leading manufacturer of peripherally inserted central venous

catheters. Gesco and its parent company, MedChem Products, were

acquired by CR Bard in 1995. Before serving as President of Gesco

International, Mr. Patrick ran two high growth divisions for McGaw

Inc., serving most recently as President of Central Admixture Pharmacy

Services, an oncology drug provider, and as Vice President and General

Manager of the Alternate Site Division. He also held a number of sales

and sales management positions at American Hospital Supply Corporation.

Tim has served on the Board of Directors of the Advanced Medical

Technology Association (AdvaMed). He is currently on the Board of the

Georgia Biomedical Partnership and a member of the Directors Circle at

Yerkes National Primate Research Center. He is an inventor on several

patents related to localized radiation delivery systems. Mr. Patrick

earned his BA in Zoology from Miami University in Ohio.
