Who is Todd Joseph Miles Holden?

Todd Joseph Miles Holden is an American born social scientist and the first tenured foreign professor at Tohoku University, one of Asia’s elite universities. His academic work is multi- and trans-disciplinary, embracing globalization, media studies, cultural studies, semiotics, advertising, television, Japanese popular culture, sociology, cultural anthropology, political communication, gender, identity, and digital youth. Since 2002 he has been an important contributor to the international webzine PopMatters, writing a column on Japanese popular culture called ReDotPop, and penning PM’s first blog, Peripatetic Postcards. A book by the same name was published in 2011.
