Who is Todd Watson?

Todd Watson is a former head coach of the Saginaw Spirit, who play in the Ontario Hockey League. He was the club's head coach from 2007 to 2011, when he was fired early in the season and replaced by Greg Gilbert. In the 2009 playoffs, Watson led the Spirit to their first ever playoff series victory, as they swept the Guelph Storm in the conference quarter-finals. Previously, Watson was an assistant general manager and associate head coach of the Plymouth Whalers, helping them win the J. Ross Robertson Cup in his final season with the club in 2006-07, and a spot in the Memorial Cup. Prior to his stint in Plymouth, Watson was head coach of the Detroit Compuware Ambassadors at the Compuware Sports Arena in Plymouth Michigan. Knickname is "the hammer" from days when he was a roofer and a carpenter.
