Who was Tokudaiji Sanetsune?
A letter to James Lord Bowes of Liverpool currently exists, translated by the Japanese Legation in London, dated 20 December 1882, signed Tokudaiji Sanenori, Minister of the Imperial Household. The name quoted in kanji on this page translates in accord with this reading, the last character reading as Soku or Nori.
Prince Sanetsune Tokudaiji GCMG was a Japanese statesman and Lord Keeper of the Privy Seal of Japan in the Meiji period.
