Who is Tony Lynes?

Tony Lynes is a writer in the field of social security and pensions. After qualifying and working as a Chartered Accountant, he was employed as assistant to Professor Richard Titmuss at the London School of Economics from 1958 to 1965. He was the first full-time secretary of the Child Poverty Action Group in 1966, and was a social security adviser to Labour Secretaries of State from 1974 to 1979.

He has spent the years since his retirement working with Southwark-based voluntary pensioners' groups, campaigning with Southwark Pensioners Action Group for a better deal for pensioner. He has also founded Southwark Explorers Club and the Welcome Singers.
