Who is Vijay Shankar Vyas?

Vijay Shankar Vyas is a noted agricultural economist of India. He received Padma Bhushan award in 2006 from the Government of India. He hails from Pushkarna Brahmin community in Bikaner. He has been the Director of IIM, Ahemdabad; IDS, Jaipur and Senior Advisor, Agriculture and Rural Development Department, the world Bank. He has authored six books.

Vyas is now Emeritus Professor and Chairman, Governing Board, Institute of Development Studies, Jaipur. He is a member of the Central Board of Directors of Reserve Bank of India.
