Who is Viktor Manoel?
Viktor Manoel is a Mexican-American dancer, choreographer, writer, and actor.
Viktor Manoel was born and raised in Mexico. His charismatic, androgynous look and unique style of dancing captured the imaginations of choreographers Édouard Lock of Canadian dance group La La La Human Steps and Toni Basil. Toni instantly hired him for David Bowie's world stadium Glass Spider Tour after she spotted him performing in a L.A. nightclub in 1987. Manoel has performed in numerous shows including Open Doors and Whistle Revisited, as well as with Jamaican-born pop diva Grace Jones, and Canadian singer Norman Iceberg.
Viktor Manoel has also appeared in movies such as Staying Alive directed by Sylvester Stallone, Breakin' 2 Electric Boogaloo, Glass Spider directed by David Mallet, and Female Perversions directed by Susan Streitfeld.
As a cyclist, Viktor’s determination and generosity has inspired and touched thousands of people. He has raised significant funds for many organizations taking part in different AIDS rides and marathons of various distances across North America each year.
