Who was Viktor Oskar Tilgner?

Viktor Oskar Tilgner was an Austrian sculptor of Carpathian German origin.

Tilgner, who was born in Pressburg was a representative of the neo-Baroque in Austria. His students included Emil Fuchs and John Werz. Tilgner "specialized in portrait busts and statues, fountains and tombs for Austrian worthies."

He died, aged 51, in Vienna.
