Who is Vladimir Vagin?
Vladimir Vagin is a notable book illustrator from the former Soviet Union. In 1989 he illustrated Here Comes the Cat! in collaboration with Frank Asch. The book was awarded the Russian National Book Award and was considered the first Russian-American collaboration on a children's book. 25th Anniversary Edition of Here Comes the Cat! was reissued in July 2011 by McSweeney's McMullens. Vladimir Vagin moved to the United States in 1990 and currently lives in Vermont. His illustrations for the picture-book Insects from Outer Space won him two Golden Duck Awards.
