Actor, Film actor
1905 – 1970
Who was Wally Vernon?
He made more than 75 films altogether, including a series of short subjects at Columbia Pictures teamed with Eddie Quillan and produced by Jules White. White emphasized extreme physical comedy in these films, and Vernon and Quillan enthusiastically engaged in pratfalling, kick-in-the-pants slapstick. The series ran from 1948 through 1956. Vernon's considerable skill as an eccentric dancer is most fully seen in Alexander's Ragtime Band, where he appears as himself. Vernon was killed in an automobile accident March, 7th 1970.
His films include:
⁕This Way Please
⁕Charlie Chan at Treasure Island
⁕Bloodhounds of Broadway
⁕What Price Glory?
⁕What a Way to Go!
