Who was Wiley Piatt?

Wiley Harold Piatt was a professional baseball player who played pitcher in the Major Leagues from 1898 to 1903. He played for the Philadelphia Phillies, Philadelphia Athletics, Chicago White Sox, and Boston Beaneaters.

Piatt was the only pitcher in the 20th century to pitch two complete games in one day and lose them both. This occurred on June 25, 1903, when, pitching for the Beaneaters, he lost to the St. Louis Cardinals by scores of 1-0 and 5-3.
