Who is William Barr McKay?

William Barr McKay is the author of Volumes 1-3 of the standard long established Construction manual McKay's Building and Construction, first published in 1938-44.

The book now serves as a practical guide to traditional forms of building and construction as they were before the Second World War. The text and numerous drawings by McKay explain processes and techniques that are essential to brickwork, masonry, slating, carpentry, joinery, plumbing and drainage. The book was reprinted many times, most recently in 2005. It has been translated into Spanish.
