Who is Willie John Daly?

Willie John Daly is an Irish former hurler and coach who played as a centre-forward for the Cork senior team.

Daly made his first appearance for the team during the 1948 championship and was a regular member of the starting fifteen until his retirement a decade later. During that time he won three All-Ireland winners' medals as part of a famous three-in-a-row, four Munster winners' medals and two National Hurling League winners' medals. He has ended up as an All-Ireland runner-up on one occasion.

At club level Daly is regarded as Carrigtwohill's greatest-ever player.
