Who was Yakov Fedorenko?

Marshal of Armoured Troops Yakov Nikolayevich Fedorenko was a Soviet general during World War II.

During the war, he was head of the Main Armoured Directorate, rendering practical assistance in the use of armored and mechanized troops in battles against the enemy, and was representative of the Supreme Command in the Battles of Moscow, Stalingrad and Kursk and many other major operations. From 1942 until his death, he was commander of all mechanized forces of the Red Army.
