Who is Yiannakis Omirou?
Yiannakis Omirou is a Greek politician from Cyprus. He has been President of the EDEK since 2001.
Omirou was born in Paphos. He studied law at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. During the Greek military junta of 1967–1974 He was an active member of the resistance movement against the Coup of the 15th of July 1974, which triggered the Turkish invasion of Cyprus. He is single and he speaks English fluently.
