Who is Yisrael Mordecai Safeek?

Yisrael Mordecai Safeek is an American physician, health care executive, author, and speaker. He is the President and CEO of The SafeCare Group, a firm with headquarters in Lexington, Kentucky with the motto of "Helping hospitals help Patients", He is the first and currently the only Kentucky physician appointed to the Board of Examiners for the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award program. since his 2007 appointment. Safeek served in the dual roles as the Chief Quality Officer of the 18-hospital Covenant Health System *, the largest health system between Dallas and Los Angeles, and first Chief Medical Officer of (at the time) the second largest clinical integration program in the US, Health Partners. As Chief Medical Officer, Safeek accelerated the implementation of advanced clinical technologies, facilitated the adoption of evidence-based medicine,and reduced the overuse and misuse of clinical resources. The network aligned hundreds of independent physicians with the health system's goals and yielded tangible outcomes in patient safety, quality, and efficiency of care. Before Covenant, Safeek served as the first Chief Quality Officer at American Alliance of Healthcare Providers National Hospital of the Year winner, and state Malcolm Baldrige Award winner, Pikeville Medical Center and Clinics. Previous award winners: The Ohio State University Medical Center, Scott & White Healthcare, and UCLA Medical Center. Since 2005, he has been associated with The Joint Commission holding certifications in the Hospital Accreditation Program (2005–present), and the Outpatient-Based Surgery Program (2009–present). Safeek is a diplomat of the Certifying Commission in Medical Management from the American College of Physician Executives, the American Board of Medical Specialties in Anesthesiology, and the National Board of Medical Examiners. He is a Fellow and Vanguard Advisory Member of the American College of Physician Executives and member of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
