Who is Bharat Bhushan?

Bharat Bhushan is an Indian yoga teacher and winner of the Padma Shri for literature and education in 1991.

Born at Saharanpur U.P., Yogiraj Bharat Bhushan is the first recipient of the coveted "Padmashri Award" given by the President of India for his contribution to yoga in 1991.

In 1971, Bhushan founded a yoga centre, Mokshayatan International Yogashram, at an early age of 20. Having travelled a lot, he has been sharing his experience and expertise in yoga with Indian as well as foreigh enthusiasts on different TV channels since 1978.

Bhushan has worked with the Indian armed forces, industries, scientists, schools, colleges and people of different religious faiths. Widely acclaimed, Bhushan is popularly known as 'Grihastha Sanyasi' claiming that yoga is not just a means to physical fitness, but a life style leading to mental alert, spiritual enlightenment and social well being.He also lay emphasis on the practicing side of Yoga rather than a subject of discussion. He believes that yoga is the best solution to individual, social and international problems as it deals with the mind.As per the available information he has won the award of first vegetarian Mr. India title in body building.
