Who was Yuan Ye?
Yuan Ye, courtesy name Huaxing, nickname Penzi, often known as the Prince of Changguang, was briefly an emperor of the Chinese/Xianbei dynasty Northern Wei. He was declared emperor by members of the paramount general Erzhu Rong's clan in 530 after Emperor Xiaozhuang had killed Erzhu Rong, and he carried imperial title for several months.
