Yuri Fedorovich Shabanov was a chess Grandmaster. He won the World Senior Chess Championship in 2003 and 2004.
Shabanov twice won European Senior Teams championships, in 2002 with Schachak Moskau and in 2006 with Dostoinstvo Moskau.
