Who is Derek Fordjour?

Derek Fordjour is an interdisciplinary artist who works in video/film, sculpture and painting. Fordjour received a B.A. degree from Morehouse College and a Master's degree in Art Education from Harvard University. He is currently pursuing an MFA in painting at Hunter College.

Fordjour is the executive producer of the The Black Sorority Project: The Exodus, the story of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority. The documentary is an independent historical initiative that is not funded, supported, endorsed or promoted by Delta Sigma Theta.

Fordjour is a member of Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity. He was commissioned by Alpha Phi Alpha to create a portrait entitled An Experiment in Brotherhood to commemorate the founding of the fraternity.

Fordjour is currently based in New York City. His work is in several public and private collections throughout the United States including Purdue University and Atlanta University Center.
