Who is Juan Temístocles Montás?

Juan Temístocles Montás Dominguez is a economist, Dominican politician and currently Dominican Republic Minister of Economy, Planning and Development, serving since 2007. Montás, previously served as Technical Secretary of State to the Presidency of the Dominican Republic from 1998 to 2000 and from 2004 to 2007, and he's a member of the Dominican Liberation Party in which has a long time political affiliation and broad political career.

Born in San Cristóbal, Dominican Republic, Montás, holds a Ph.D. in engineering from the Technical University of Madrid and also a Master's degree in Economics. With broad public and professional career, is a government official with long experience. His office has published several papers related to politics, economy and the electricity sector in the Dominican Republic.
