Vasiliy Tihonovich Podshibyakin was a Soviet geologist and head of the trust “Yamalnefterazvedka”. He took part in discoveries of large and unique gas fields in the northern regions of Western Siberia, including Urengoy gas field – the world's second largest natural gas field .
