Who was Alec David Young?
Alec David Young was a British aero-engineer. He was Professor and Head of the Department of Aeronautical Engineering, Queen Mary College, University of London, 1954–78, then Emeritus, and Vice-Principal, Queen Mary College, 1966-78.
Young was educated at Caius College, Cambridge.
He was awarded an OBE in 1964, and elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1973. He was awarded the Ludwig-Prandtl-Ring from the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Luft- und Raumfahrt for "outstanding contribution in the field of aerospace engineering" in 1976.
