Who is David J. Asher?

David J. Asher is a British astronomer, who works at the Armagh Observatory in Northern Ireland.

He is known for the meteor research that he conducts with Robert McNaught. In 1999 and 2000, they accurately gauged when the Leonids meteor shower would peak, while underestimating the peak intensities.

He has also acted in a Hollywood movie. His chief interests include orbits and dynamics of comets and meteors.

Asher has done his doctorate from Oxford and he has also studied mathematics at Cambridge.
