Who was John Josias Conybeare?

John Josias Conybeare, elder brother of William Daniel Conybeare, was educated at Christ Church, Oxford.

He was an accomplished scholar, studied at Christchurch College, Oxford; became vicar of Batheaston; and was Professor of Anglo-Saxon, and afterwards Professor of Poetry, at Oxford.
