Who was Jorge Matute Remus?
Jorge Matute was a Mexican engineer.
His movement of the 1700-ton building of Telefonos de Mexico in 1950 to widen a main street in Guadalajara gained him a place in the city's history. Matute was dean of the Universidad de Guadalajara and municipal president of the same city. He was given several honors by the University of Guadalajara, UNESCO, the National Prize for Engineering, the French Academic Palms, among others.
