Who was Louis Eilshemius?
Louis Michel Eilshemius was an American painter, primarily of landscapes and nudes. Although he was academically trained, much of his work has the unselfconscious character of naive art. Eilshemius was a grandson of Swiss painter Louis Léopold Robert.
